MUSIC INTERVIEW: Life On The Road With…Dead Letter Circus

This week Australian alt-rockers Dead Letter Circus head to the UK from down under for a series of headline shows. We caught up with the band ahead of the tour to discuss their favourite way to pass time on the road, their most memorable moment and more.

Favourite thing about touring:

Constantly moving and meeting new people everyday in different cities.

Least favourite thing about touring:

The worst thing would have to be the tour illness that someone will get and spread the love to the rest of us in the van.

Five essentials for the road:

Awesome neck pillow
Lots of clean underwear
Flip flops for the occasional digusting venue shower
Travel track pants
Back up sun glasses

Your favourite way to pass the time:

I love to explore each city as much as I can on foot, even if only for a few hours.

The “Mosts”:

Memorable moment:

Most recent would be in Hamburg when we had finished and had walked out to merch with the lights on and house music playing but the crowd just kept chanting for an encore until we did.

Hilarious moment:

Everytime a German persons asks to ‘make a photo’ with me. It’s the translation gift that keeps on giving.

Embarrassing moment:

Falling over on stage from time to time. I am tall and clumsy so it’s just a matter of time until the next one.

Outrageous moment:

We prefer to keep these on the down low.

Drunken moment:

May have been last night with this Polish band Disperse who have bottle of home made vodka with them that tastes like fruit juice but it 50% alcohol.

Rewarding moment:

Hearing people singing the words to our songs 1000’s of miles from home.
