Indie-punks Harker have announced details of their Cassette Club series, a collection of tapes made exclusively available to those signed up to their mailing list. The tapes will be given away completely free to a selection of fans, chose at random, on the 9th April.
The first edition will feature a live session, which was recorded at Kesbri Studios, offering a chance to hear demos of brand new, previously unreleased material.
“We recorded a live session in February while on tour with our friend Jon from The Doublecross and we wanted to do something fun with it,” explains vocalist/guitarist Mark Boniface. “Cassette tapes often get treated as the poor relation to vinyl, but I think there’s something really great about them. Visually you can do some really interesting things and they are relatively cheap to produce when compared with vinyl which means we are able to do things like this.”
One lucky fan will also win an extended bundle, which will include a Harker t-shirt and a copy of the band’s Still Seething/Such Grace cassette tape, containing covers of The Replacements and Hot Water Music.
