With 2000trees Festival almost upon us we’re grabbing our tents, packing our essentials and we are ready for another fun weekend at Upcote Farm. There are so many amazing bands on the line-up, but we’ve taken the time to choose some of our hot picks – we’ll see you down the front!
Palm Reader
Thursday – The Cave
After making a surprise last minute appearance at the festival last year Palm Reader prove their worth as they return 12 months later, set to bring the chaos to The Cave. 2018 saw the release of the band’s new album Braille, a hard-hitting and intricate set of tracks that we can’t wait to see live. These guys will be one of the first bands you’ll see at this year’s 2000trees, and trust us, they will set the bar high for the rest of the weekend.
Press To MECO
Thursday – The Axiom
Another live favourite of ours are Press To MECO, the fun-filled trio who will bring the party along on day one of 2000trees. For such a young band they already have an array of huge hits, from the older Diffusion Of Responsibility to the more recent Here’s To The Fatigue, you are bound to be singing along in unison with your fellow crowd mates from start to finish. Or if you’re yet to see this band live, make Thursday the day that you fall in love with Press To MECO.
Arcane Roots
Thursday – Main Stage
Arcane Roots are creating a Landslide of hype with their new EP ready for release and now the band are getting their roots stuck in at 2000trees Festival. No stranger to a UK stage this band deliver unmissable live performances every time, and we are beyond eager to see what the alt-trio have to offer. See you there!
Black Peaks
Thursday – The Cave
With new awaited album All That Divides set for release on the 5th and with a taste of the material with latest single Home, we are feeling the Black Peaks hype! The kings of live shows, the boys are set to make Thursday at 2000Trees their Home and bring chaos. Could they preview never heard material? You will have to be there to see. We certainly will – bring on Black Peaks!
Sick Joy
Friday – The Axiom
Put those hangovers to one side and head down to see Sick Joy on Friday, who open up The Axiom stage. For fans of the likes of Nirvana, Pixies, Arctic Monkeys and Oasis, the post-grunge rock trio have spent the last 12 months turning heads left, right and centre. The release of their debut EP Amateurs earlier this year led to support slots with Honeyblood at Bush Hall and Feeder at Brixton Academy – nothing short of impressive for such a young band.
Gold Key
Friday – NEU Stage
Combining grungy riffs with haunting vocals and hard-hitting percussion, Gold Key is made up of individuals from the deeply rooted Watford scene; featuring members of Gallows, SikTh, Nervus and more. The band’s debut album Hello, Phantom gained them a lot of attention in the press and saw them tour alongside Arcane Roots and Grave Pleasures, and more recently appearing at Download Festival and supporting Alexisonfire at Brixton Academy. For the perfect festival soundtrack, get Gold Key in your schedule on Friday.
Conjurer
Friday – NEU Stage
If you’re a metal fan then chances are you’ve heard the name Conjurer A LOT over the last 12 months, and rightly so. The band released their critically acclaimed debut album Mire via Holy Roar Records earlier this year and have gone strength to strength, securing tours with Employed To Serve and Conan off the back of the release. Conjurer are one of the most brutal bands you will see this weekend, but in the best way possible. DO. NOT. MISS. THIS.
Haggard Cat
Saturday – Main Stage
Remember HECK? Well Haggard Cat, which features Matt Reynolds and Tom Marsh from the former outfit, is a project that has blossomed and we’re oh so thankful. In their short career the band have played with the likes of Feed The Rhino, Jamie Lenman, DZ Deathrays and Weirds as well as playing a headline slot at Camden Rocks and opening the main stage at ArcTanGent Festival. If their live reputation is anything to go by, we know that we’re in for a treat this weekend on the Main Stage.
Hell Is For Heroes
Saturday – The Cave
Hell is For Heroes made a triumphant comeback this year, having recently stormed UK stages on their The Neon Handshake Tour, and pleasing fans far and wide the post-hardcore boys are not losing momentum. We are on edge to see them unleash hell on Saturday at 2000trees Festival.
Enter Shikari
Saturday – Main Stage
Enter Shikari are taking to the skies and the festival stages this summer. Closing headliners on the last day of 2000trees Festival, we think the organiser’s have saved best ’til last. The St Albans stars are certainly ready to wow us, playing a sold out and massively awaited warm-up show at home favourite The Forum in Hatfield. We’re ready to join the undoubtedly huge Saturday crowd at 2000trees, as we’re sure we are amongst thousands that can’t wait to bounce around to nostalgic classics (*clap *clap * clap) and mosh our mud covered socks off to everything Rou and the wild bunch throw at us.
