FESTIVAL NEWS: Download Festival Reveals Programme Of Village Plus Arena Activities & Entertainment
Download Festival has announced a their rock n’ roll activities and entertainment for fans in The Download Village. Alongside the world’s biggest rock bands; including headliners Def Leppard, Slipknot and Tool and the high-flying WWE NXT UK, fans will enjoy a stunning array of unique performances, experientials, stalls, food, drink and more over the weekend at Donington.
RockFit™ will make its festival debut, providing heavy metal exercise classes to a soundtrack of AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses, Metallica and more. The classes are suitable and adaptable for everyone and fans are invited to take part.
DO.OMYOGA™ will be making a comeback for a second year running, giving fans the opportunity to practice the ancient Indian Nada Yoga, where music and sound become one. The sessions will be suitable for all levels, from beginners to expert.
The SINDROME Arena will be back this year playing host to a programme of death-defying stunts, bohemian freaks, mechanical madness, Viking battles and a heavy dose of love, peace and air rock n roll. There will be appearances from Area 51 and their wandering Caravan Of Lost Souls, The Thunderdome adrenaline fuelled stunt show, as well as Demolition Download from Battle Heritage which will also provide workshops.
UK Air Guitar Championships makes its return to Download, where fans are invited exclusively to enter into this internationally recognised competition to gain the chance of becoming the UK’s ultimate 2019 Air Guitar Hero and even get a shot at the world title in Finland. DR HAZE the Undead Ringmaster of The Circus of Horrors hosts the competition and at the end of each heat, performers from the Circus of Horrors will hit the SINDROME Stage.
The Doghouse features a stacked bill including fan favorites Circus of Horrors, who are back with two wild new shows Asylum and Welcome To The Freak Show.
The World’s Greatest Wall of Death returns to The Download Village, whilst deep in the Woods in the heart of the Village is The Metal Den. Festival goers will get the opportunity to lay in hammocks and savour Download’s very first Outdoor Cinema The Metal Screen and its hand curated Cineprogram. From noon to midnight each day a collection of Arthouse, classic, comedy and documentaries will be screened. Resident metal VJ Harry K will take to the decks in the early hours, spinning metal & rock classics. Download’s revered resident tattooists, Old Sarum, are on hand ready to ink the masses, for those who want a more permanent memento of their weekend.
