If you’re in Glasgow over August then you’re in for a treat as their Summer Sessions will be returning to Bellahouston Park for three special shows. Taking place on 16th, 17th and 25th August the headliners have been announced as The Cure, Foo Fighters and The 1975, respectively. With the city just about recovered from TRNSMT Festival took place last month at Glasgow Green, it’s set to do it all over again in a matter of weeks.
The Cure will be making their return to Scotland after 27 years away they will be supported by Mogwai, The Twilight Sad and The Joy Formidable on Friday 16th August. Foo Fighters will be playing to a sold-out crowd on Saturday 17th August alongside Slaves, Frank Carter + The Rattlesnakes, The Van T’s and Hot Milk. Whilst The 1975 will be closing the festival with one of their incredible live performances accompanied by Twin Atlantic, You Me At Six, Pale Waves, Ten Tonnes and No Rome.
Summer Sessions will also be taking place in Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh across August. On the 7th and 8th Florence + The Machine supported by Self Esteem will be taking to the Edinburgh stage for a double whammy of shows, with the second night already sold out these look set to be memorable affairs. Primal Scream and Johnny Marr will be performing on the 10th August followed by CHVRCHES, We Were Promised Jetpacks and The Ninth Wave on the 11th. The ‘Scottish Beyoncé’ Lewis Capaldi then headlines two sold-out nights supported by The Snuts on the 13th and 14th respectively. As we head towards the end of the Edinburgh Summer Sessions; James supported by Fatherson and Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly perform on 15th August, The Courteeners are set to play a sold-out show on the 16th August and Madness and The Lightning Seeds round off the summer of music for Edinburgh on 18th August.
