Black Stone Cherry have revealed their take on Son House‘s Death Letter Blues as part of their tribute to their blues heroes, Black To Blues Volume 2.
“We have played a few different versions of this song live for several years!!” the band exclaim. “To finally be able to go in the studio and actually record it was an incredible experience and we got to extend the live version and have a lot of fun. Son House is without a doubt one of the most haunting artists of all time, Blues or any genre, we can only hope we did the song and him justice!”
Black To Blues 2, which also pays tribute to Freddie King, Robert Johnson, Otis Rush, Howlin’ Wolf and Elmore James, is due for release on 1st November via Mascot Label Group/Mascot Records.
