Evanescence have announced their first album of original material in nine years. The Bitter Truth, which will be out via RCA UK, will be released incrementally over the course of this year.
“We were recording this music right up until we couldn’t go into the studio anymore, and finished it remotely through file sharing and phone calls,” explains vocalist Amy Lee. “We are still writing and have a lot more work to do on this album, but this time we wanted to release the songs individually, as we create, to live more in the moment with our fans and our music.”
Evanescence will release the video for their new single Wasted On You today (Friday 24th April 2020) at 11am CT/5pm BST, premiered on their YouTube channel where Amy Lee will participate in a fan Q&A. Head to the Evanescence YouTube channel HERE.
The video for Wasted On You was shot by each band member on their iPhones, while currently in isolation.
“Wasted On You wasn’t the song we were planning to release first, but when the whole world went into indefinite lockdown and everything changed, so did the feeling and meaning of what we wanted to say right now,” Lee adds. “I didn’t write these lyrics about what we’re all now going through, but somehow that’s exactly what they are.”

Evanescence and Within Temptation recently announced rescheduled dates for their World Collide European tour. Originally set to take place in April, the tour has been postponed to September.
All existing tickets and VIP packages will remain valid for the rescheduled dates and all venues remain the same – except for Hamburg and Frankfurt. The Hamburg show will move to the Barclaycard Arena; all tickets will remain valid at the new venue and extra tickets to this show will be on sale immediately. There will be an update on Frankfurt shortly.
