The Used have released a video for their song The Lighthouse, which features Blink-182‘s Mark Hoppus. The track is taken from the band’s recently released eighth studio album Heartwork

Last month, The Used called upon their fans to submit videos of their frontline fighters for the video project. The outcome features nurses, doctors, first responders, petrol station attendents, supermarket workers, delivery peple and other essential workers, as well as members of The Used and Mark Hoppus at home with their families.

“It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves – William Shakespeare. Doubt can be an avalanche. It can cascade out and infect everything it touches,” comments The Used frontman Bert McCracken. “Inspiration is also infectious. The original chorus lyric was “I can’t be your lighthouse” until I was reminded by my 6-year-old daughter that I can be and I am. It helps to remember that we all have the capability to inspire someone in our own way. Please enjoy our song The Lighthouse as much as we do. Love, Bert.”

“I’ve been friends with The Used for a long time and was stoked to be invited into the studio with them,” Hoppus adds. “The Lighthouse is one of those songs that came together very quickly, with everybody excitedly throwing ideas around. What emerged from the session is a track we’re all very proud of, and I hope everyone likes it as much as we do.”

The Used‘s latest album Heartwork is out now via Big Noise/Hassle Records, available to stream or purchase HERE
