In Hearts Wake have released a video for their new single Dystopia, taken from their forthcoming album KALIYUGA.
The track takes a new musical approach for the band and, like the album, is inspired by the Four Ages of Humanity.
“Dystopia speaks of the fourth cycle and present age of the world known in Hinduism as Kaliyuga,” explains vocalist Jake Taylor. “Kaliyuga is often referred to as the dark age due to the predominate traits of discord, disconnection, destruction, materialism, oppression, cruelty and fear.
“We look for the cause to cast the blame, but humanity need only look itself in the mirror. It is time for us to face and overcome the issues and challenges that currently threaten all life on Earth.”
In Hearts Wake will be minimising their environmental footprint with the release of KALIYUGA, by carbon offsetting the entire process and using recycled, plastic-free materials to manufacture and package the physical version of the record.
The quintet calculated the album’s recording process to be 26.37 tonnes of CO2 emissions, which have been offset through the purchase of carbon credits in the Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor of Western Australia.
KALIYUGA is due for release on 7th August 2020 via UNFD, available to pre-order HERE and pre-save HERE. Vinyl copies of the album have been pressed on calcium-based eco-plastic with recycled and eco-friendly packaging. The four original variants – molton, ash, flame and ignite – have now sold out, however the band have released a fifth ‘smoke’ variation which is available to pre-order HERE.
In Hearts Wake have also launched a website offering album news, insights, exclusive content and clues. Check it out HERE.
