DZ Deathrays have announced their new album Positive Rising: Part 2, set for release on 9th July 2021 through Alcopop! Records (UK) and IOHYOU (AUS).
The release, which follows 2019’s Positive Rising: Part 1, was recorded with producer Miro Mackie. Vocalist Shane Parsons says of the album’s title-track: “Positive Rising is the closing song of the two-part album. The track comes from thoughts of an undercurrent of positivity throughout this world making its way to the surface. Starting small and developing into something that could potentially change lives for the better.”
Alongside the announcement of the new album, the band have unleashed Fired Up as the first single. They revealed that Fired Up went through 15 variants before the Australian trio found the perfect musical formula for it, as drummer Simon Ridley comments: “Basically at some point Shane [Parsons] just turned Fired Up into a big stadium-rocking Bruce Springsteen-style anthem and I guess that’s when we knew what we were dealing with.”
A trippy animated video directed by Thomas Rawle has been released in support of the track, check it out below.
