The Haunt have released their new single Wish You Stayed, taken from their forthcoming Social Intercourse EP.
Written by vocalist Anastasia Grace and producer Matt Good, Grace says of the track: “Written and recorded in Phoenix, there were moments where I was beating myself up about my music. Flipping through a notebook, I came across lyrics I wrote a year prior about going on tour and leaving a relationship paused. The song is really about my 15 year old self thinking the person would be there or that they would care enough to wait for me; however, that didn’t happen.” She continues, “as soon as I looked at the lyrics I felt peaceful again. It was the last song we recorded and was a defining moment because the experience wasn’t easy but I grew a lot from it and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I felt very proud of what we created.”
The band have also joined forces with Chris Hill/Digital Cypher for the single’s music video. It recreates the highs and low of life on the road, with clever use of a green screen alongside concert footage, meet and greets and merch table meets with fans whilst the band were on tour with Palaye Royale.
