Charlie Simpson has announced a headline show, to celebrate the ten-year anniversary of his debut solo album Young Pilgrim. The show will take place on 5th November 2021 at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town and marks his first solo live date since 2016.
Simpson comments: “I can’t believe it’s been ten years since I released my first solo album Young Pilgrim. That album will always have a special place in my heart, as it’s the first time I had ever released music under my own name. It’s so lovely to see ten years on how much that record still resonates with my fans. Listening to it now, really takes me back to a happy time.
“Another reason this show is going to be so special is because of the venue choice. I saw Silverchair there in 1998, which was my first ever live gig experience and it blew my mind! Any time I play that venue I feel a real sense of connection to it. I also haven’t played a show in nearly two years which is probably the longest I have ever not played a show since first picking up a guitar, so it’s going to feel amazing. Though the show will be heavily weighted with songs from Young Pilgrim, it also gives me a chance to test out some of my new songs live for the first time which I’m really excited about, I really can’t wait!“
