Evanescence have announced details of their own graphic anthology series, titled Echoes From The Void. The series will be released in conjunction with Incendium and Heavy Metal Entertainment through Incendium’s OPUS imprint.
The five-issue comic book series will feature two or more story adaptations each, taken from the band’s catalogue, which will begin with adaptations based on songs taken from the band’s upcoming album The Bitter Truth, which is released on 26th March 2021 via Sony. Issue 1 features two stories inspired by Better Without You and Wasted On You. The series will also revisit material from the band’s discography across the series, with bandleader Amy Lee overseeing the creative direction of the art and stories. A team of creatives including graphic artists, animators, illustrators, fine artists, screenwriters, novelists are also involved.
Speaking about the series Amy Lee says: “I am so excited about this project series. The possibilities are endless. Collaborating across art forms like this is so unique, and it’s been fascinating to see how many different lives a song can have, like alternate realities. I look forward to working on this throughout the year and am so honoured to break open this new world for our music”.
The first print edition of each issue will be available as a limited-edition collectable comic book with cardstock covers, specialty foil treatments, glossy pages and individual numbering.
