DZ Deathrays have released a video for their new single Kerosene, taken from their upcoming album Positive Rising: Part 2.
“Kerosene is all about this idea that we tend to spend so much time looking at other people and their lives and letting that dictate the trajectory of our own,” explains vocalist/guitarist Shane Parsons. “Leaning into the ‘grass is always greener on the other side’ thing. Then the chorus flips around to say that you can be there waiting for others to figure out what they want to do, but just be ready to take on your own path when the time is right.”

Positive Rising: Part 2 is due for release on 9th July 2021 via Alcopop! Records, available to pre-order HERE.
Although separated by recent border closures and city lockdowns, to celebrate the release of Positive Rising: Part 2 the band (repped by Simon Ridley) are hosting a Positive Rising Bunnings Sausage Sizzle at Brisbane’s Cannon Hill Bunnings on 11th July 2021, to raise money for Support Act – an organisation that continues to be the backbone of Australia’s music industry, supporting arts workers through free counselling, crisis relief funding and COVID-19 grants during what continues to be one of the hardest times for artists, crew and music workers in recent years.
