Brisbane based quartet Beddy Rays have released a video for their new single Milk.
“Milk is about breaking out of a rough patch, moving on and reminding yourself that sometimes you need to let go. It definitely lands on the punk side of our songwriting, starting out fast-paced and in your face before taking a chill pill in the second verse. The lyrics tap you on the shoulder and say ‘hey, it’s all good to feel the way you do’. As the pace picks up in the second chorus, the song drives into a bridge section that’ll have you metaphorically kickin’ holes in your wall, which we believe is the perfect cherry on top!,” comments frontman Jacko.
The video tells the story of a global milk shortage with everyone left relying on powdered milk, until the news of the last cow on earth breaks and the band head out to steal it for themselves but face some challenges along the way. Bassist Brad O’Connor says of the video: “The film clip idea came from a combination of our fabulously silly minds and light-heartedly taking the mickey out of hip-hop videos. We started brainstorming ideas to do with milk and decided a heist to steal the last milk cow was the go! Our good mate and videographer Luke Dunning from Umbrella Creative had the brilliant idea to utilise Tim Wood from Tank Ride’s massive warehouse which has a plethora of tanks, trucks and machinery which helped build on our initial idea”
