The Lunar Year have released their brand new single Boys Will Cry. The track first premiered on Dancing On Ice last weekend, when the band’s own Connor Ball skated in the semi-final (watch it HERE).
“Boys Will Cry is an extremely vulnerable song and a massively personal song to me,” Ball explains. “I wrote it through lockdown because I thought at the time so many people felt alone and needed to hear these words to know that they weren’t. It’s about mental health and how common it is to slip into these dark ways we so easily find ourselves in sometimes. Adding to that – it touches more on the male mental health side because I find that SO many guys struggle to talk about it and I’d love if this song could help even just one person going through a rough patch. My favourite lyric in the song is ‘I forget about me sometimes’ – life goes so fast and it’s so easy to get so caught up in it all that you forget to check in with yourself every once in a while.”
