Beauty School have announced their debut album Happiness is set for release on 9th September 2022 via Slam Dunk Records.
The band worked with James Kenosha (Dinosaur Pile-Up, Pulled Apart By Horses, Marmozets) on the album and vocalist Joe Caberea says of it: “Happiness is just a collection of songs that we wrote, but it feels like much more to us. We are really proud of this record and sharing it feels like the end of a long difficult journey yet at the same time the start of another exciting journey. Writing this album was our purpose whilst we were stuck inside for more than a year. When there’s nowhere to go, no shows to play, no one to see, you have to create your own happiness. So that’s what we did.”
Alongside the album announcement, the band have shared a video for their new single Drysocket. Discussing the message of the track, Caberea explains: “it’s about the realisation that the relationship you are in is toxic. However this is about the journey of coming to that realisation. Realising the cracks and the red flags. Recognising that you are losing sight of yourself.”
