Lazy Queen have released a video for I See You, taken from their latest EP Growing Pains.
“The video for I See You was a combined effort between myself and long-time collaborator Johan Lundsten who worked with us on the video for Bed/Head and Alcohol on our previous EP A Human Reaction,” explains Henrik García Søberg (vocals/guitars/keys).
“I See You is a song about personal shortcoming, behavioural patterns and loops, perspective and empathy/lack thereof. I wanted to find a way to expand on this theme in the video and so rather than focusing on a linear narrative we opted to make a mosaic of vignettes showcasing various situations we felt resonated with the themes of the song. We’ve pulled from our own lives, and wanted to create something that’s equal parts a grounded and literal, and surreal and abstract depiction of a human experience. It’s relationships and loneliness, self harm and self love, body dysmorphia, grief, connection and disconnection, growth and regression. None of the people in the movie are actors, and we wanted to use real people with real experiences and let them tap into their own take on the theme of the song/video. I came up with the idea and Johan helped bring it to life”.
Growing Pains is out now via Icons Creating Evil Art, available to stream or purchase HERE.
