Last Friday saw Holly Humberstone play her Southampton stop on the limited line up of intimate outstore shows for her album launch of Paint My Bedroom Black, out October 13th. The outstore, hosted by Vinilo Record Store, unsurprisingly was completely sold out.
The dark and dreamy alt-pop princess who has previously supported the likes of Olivia Rodrigo, Girl In Red, and Lewis Capaldi, took over The Brook with her beautiful, slightly melancholic voice and acoustic guitar, showcasing a mix of new songs off the album, along with a few older ones in between. Love songs of sorts spanning romances, friendships and familial love. A few hundred of her adoring fans with their eyes and ears fixed on Humberstone, singing along to almost every song. Her latest single, Kissing In Swimming Pools, went down a storm, along with the likes of possibly her most well-known song, Deep End, and with a sea of phones appearing for the majority of the set, capturing these moments to hold on to. Intimate shows are always an experience, and this one was definitely no different.
