It’s one thing being able to see an artist in today’s world. With everything the way it is, you’re lucky when you snag tickets to see your favourite artist. You’re even luckier if you get to meet and greet them at a limited signing!
That’s exactly what these 150 ticket holders got. An exclusive first listen and intimate performance by Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, who graced Brighton’s Resident Records Store.
Located deep in the lanes, it was the perfect setting for Frank to really go into detail about some of the meanings behind songs off their new album Dark Rainbow, with performances from it. Not only did they play, but they offered the public the chance to ask some burning question, and really get that artist to fan response. Questions like “Are you ever going to write songs like Juggernaut & I Hate You?”… to which Franks response was… “You need to understand, I was in a
very dark place when I wrote those songs. And now, I find myself in a better, happy place. So probably not, at least not with this album anyway”… Who knows with album six though?
Another question which really grasped our attention was from a father and his two kids; directed towards Frank he asked; “As the father of two aspiring musicians, have you got any advice for them along this journey?” to which frank looked at them and said… “Play from your heart, and don’t follow trends set by anyone including your friends. Be yourself! Or just start a hardcore band. It worked, or at least it did for me!” Everyone was stood, watching and listening intently as they played a limited catalogue of tracks and we had the absolute pleasure to be there and capture this moment in time!
