Grunge icons Pearl Jam brought their Dark Matter world tour to Manchester’s Co-Op Live Arena on 25th June. This was Pearl Jam’s first time playing in Manchester in twelve years and the fans who had waited all that time were not left disappointed. Singer Eddie Vedder told the crowd early on that he had been ill and was losing his voice but nobody in the arena would have noticed as he powered his way through the epic set. Across more than two hours the audience were treated to tracks from all across Pearl Jam’s career, from their 1992 debut Ten right up to this year’s Dark Matter. Based on this show Pearl Jam are sounding as good ever and hopefully it won’t be another twelve years until we get to see them again.
