FESTIVAL PREVIEW: Liverpool Sound City 2025

Following on from the success of the 2024 edition of Sound City the line-up for 2025 has now been announced with more bands to be added soon. Taking place across Liverpool on 3rd and 4th May 2025, we’re taking a look at who we can see live in 2025!

The Saturday and Sunday headliners went down a treat back in 2023 at Mountford Hall when The Royston Club and Dylan John Thomas created great memories for the capacity crowd and we expect more of the same this year as both artists have gained a massive following since then. With the Saturday afternoon headliner still to be announced we were delighted to hear that Liverpool’s very own STONE are the Sunday afternoon headliners, Fin Power and the band will bring their own style of punk to the home crowd, having saw them live on two occasions we know what to expect from the band that released a debut album in 2024.

Singer/songwriter Nieve Ella can do no wrong right now and has been building a massive fanbase around the UK these past couple of years as has Rianne Downey, who also played up at Mountford Hall in 2023 and since then has been gaining in popularity while touring with Paul Heaton of The Beautiful South. The Clause and Keyside also make a return with their own exciting brand of indie music with both these bands having recent successful UK tours. Looking down the list of so-called up and coming bands we are delighted to see Alex Spencer return to the festival for the third year in a row while Scottish indie/folk band Brògeal make their debut at the festival, we are sure they will go down well with the knowledgeable Sound City crowd. For those that like a more laid-back shoegaze style of music look no further than Deary and IST IST, Sound City is definitely a festival that has something for everyone no matter your music taste showcasing both established and new bands.

There are a few new names for us to explore this year, we have heard good things about Florentines, The Guest List, Imogen and the Knife and Mitch Sanders among others. They are definitely on our ‘must see’ list.
