Teddy Rocks Festival has postponed its 2020 event due to the COVID-19 pandemic and will now take place between 30th April – 2nd May 2021.
“We’ve made the very difficult decision to move Teddy Rocks Festival to 2021,” says festival director Tom Newton. “As always, the safety of everyone from the audience to the performers and our crew is paramount to us. With there still being uncertainty regarding COVID-19, it’s only right we make this decision.”
Many of the names on the 2020 line-up will also appear in 2021, including headliners The Amazons and The Fratellis, as well as Skindred, Terrorvision, The Skints, A, Dream State, The Snuts, Black Futures and many more.
“All tickets for 2020 remain valid and can be rolled over to 2021, and we would love for you to continue your support and keep your tickets for the new dates whilst we work tirelessly to bring you as close to the same line up as before,” Newton adds. “We need your support now more than ever to continue to run this festival and to continue to help children with cancer.
“We want to say a massive thank you to anybody who has already purchased tickets before and during these unprecedented times. It really has kept us motivated and driven and reminds us that not only are we able to help children with cancer and their families, but we also provide local musicians with a platform and give young people the opportunity to share stages with bands that they aspire to. We simply cannot do this without you!”
Teddy Rocks Festival started from humble beginnings in a country pub in North Dorset in 2012. Founder of TRF, Tom Newton (29), wanted to help fundraise for the charity Teddy20 which was started by his parents to raise money for children and families fighting cancer after the sad loss of his brother, Ted Newton, who was 10 years old when he lost his life to a rare bone cancer.
Next year’s festival follows a highly successful 2019, where £107,943 was raised to help fight children’s cancer. Teddy Rocks Festival has raised over £250,000 with help from previous headliners which include: The Darkness, The Zutons, Feeder, Ash, Twin Atlantic, Modestep, Scouting For Girls, From The Jam, The Hoosiers, and Don Broco. To this day all profits received from the sale of tickets are donated to Teddy20.
