Following the release of their Instagram filter arcade game for single Wrong Impression, Brighton quartet Beach Riot have unveiled the music video for the track.
The 8-bit game inspired music video throws the viewer back to the computer games used and loved during the ’80s and the ’90s. In keeping with the theme of the track’s promotional activities it follows their Instagram filter arcade game, where players’ facial movements were tracked to fly a spaceship through a sea of waving cats. Beach Riot definitely had a creative vision for this track and have successfully brought it to life. The track is the beginning of new material from the band, who arecurrently working on the follow-up to 2018’s Beach Riot EP.
When discussing Wrong Impression, Beach Riot explains: “Imagine that you had the chance to go back in time to tell your younger self that you turned out alright. You’d do it, right? You’d give your old self some much needed advice and encouragement, and then be on your way? As we can’t go back in time, maybe take a moment. Next time you catch yourself in a reflection let yourself know it’s gonna be OK now. Love yourself <3.”
