We are very excited to confirm that the The Hurt Process will be performing at 2000trees Festival on Thursday 6th July! We exclusively announce the band as part of the festival’s 7 Days Of Trees event – keep your eyes peeled for more announcements across the week. We caught up with The Hurt Process to discuss their recent comeback, what we can expect from their set at 2000trees and more.
We are very excited to announce you as part of the 2000trees line-up! What does it mean to The Hurt Process to play at the festival?
It means the world to us, after all these years and finally getting back together. We are big fans of independence, be it festivals or club promoters, the festival has a very friendly vibe, and the people that run it genuinely care about music and the culture around it.
What can fans expect from your set?
Some old classics from out debut album and a few new songs, some old energy ?
Last year you released your first new material in 17 years, Stolen Skin. How did it feel to get back to get back together to write new material?
When we formed THP, we were all at our happiest when getting together and jamming. We all love playing music and that never leaves you. So when we stepped into the rehearsal studio for the first time in years, it honestly felt exactly the same. Big racket, big smiles.
Did your writing process change at all?
COVID hit exactly when we started jamming again, so we were chucked into remote writing pretty quickly. Obviously tech has changed a tad in 17 years, so it was very easy to collaborate by sharing stems and demos etc. So as soon as we could get back to rehearsing and recording, we all knew the material inside out.
Can we expect anymore new material between now and 2000trees?
Let us just say that we have tracked more songs than have been released!
Are there any other bands on the 2000trees line-up that you’re excited to see?
Yep. Loads. The line-up is stacked this year. It’s impossible to watch Skindred and not have a great time. Cancer Bats, Pitchshifter, Rival Schools, are all fantastic, but I’m super excited to check out Dead Poet Society, Kid Kapichi, Svalbard and Bob Vylan! Too many to list though.
Finally, what is your festival top tip?
Socks. Bring more socks.
