Bastille’s gig at The 1865 in Southampton was a special event to promote and provide a sneak preview of their forthcoming album & (Ampersand) to create a moment of connection between the band and their dedicated fans. Known traditionally for their powerful live performances, Dan Smith brought an intimate energy to this 500-capacity venue, giving fans a closer look at the new album’s multi-part narrative which has been gradually unveiled throughout 2024.
The Southampton show was part of a limited run of intimate gigs across the UK and Europe, where the band performed new tracks like Blue Sky & The Painter and Leonard & Marianne. These songs are reflective of the evolving and emotional soundscape merging Bastille’s signature anthemic style with introspective themes. Fans who have followed Bastille since the Bad Blood era were thrilled by how the new songs from & felt like a continuation of the band’s growth while still maintaining the elements that make them unique. The band’s choice of Southampton’s 1865 venue for this launch gig added an extra layer of intimacy, making it a memorable night for longtime fans.
The double album & is due for release October 25th 2024.
