LIVE REVIEW: Thrice, Refused, Barrowland Ballroom, Glasgow, 27/10/2019

Everyone loves a co-headline tour, especially when those co-headliners are Refused and Thrice. Last year Thrice released their latest album Palms through Epitaph Records whilst Refused made their long-awaited comeback in 2015 with Freedom. LIVE REVIEW: Opeth, SWG3, Glasgow, 31/10/2019

Growing old gracefully is something few bands manage. Opeth have managed it better than most, this second prog focused stage of the band’s career has split fans. Some hate it, some love it, some...like bits of both. Having released their thirteenth studio album In Cauda Venenum back in September, we were expecting a trip down memory lane through their extensive back catalogue and their Glasgow show did not disappoint on this front.

LIVE REVIEW: Blink-182 (Acoustic), PRYZM, Kingston Upon Thames, 18/10/2019

Marking their recent record release NINE with two stripped-back sets, Blink-182 returned to Kingston's party hive PRYZM for two sold-out acoustic album launch shows with Banquet Records. Two-thirds of the band; singer Matt Skiba and bassist Mark Hoppus, brought all the placid pop-punk vibes for a compact, career-spanning set.

LIVE REVIEW: Craig Finn & The Uptown Controllers, Exchange, Bristol, 11/10/2019

Craig Finn (The Hold Steady, Lifter Puller and Brokerdealer) is in the UK right now playing his first run of shows with the four-piece Uptown Controllers sharing the stage. This year he released the third part in his trilogy of solo releases I Need A New War which continues in his narrative style of writing, we headed to the Bristol date of the tour to see how this works in a live setting.
