Last year Oxford’s MSRY released the EP 'Safety First' to critical acclaim, will following this up with latest offering 'Loss' push the band closer to the plaudits they have gained for their chaotic live performances?
Everyone loves a co-headline tour, especially when those co-headliners are Refused and Thrice. Last year Thrice released their latest album Palms through Epitaph Records whilst Refused made their long-awaited comeback in 2015 with Freedom. When the tour recently rolled into Barrowland Ballroom in Glasgow we were there to see just what the night held.
Growing old gracefully is something few bands manage. Opeth have managed it better than most, this second prog focused stage of the band’s career has split fans. Some hate it, some love it, some...like bits of both. Having released their thirteenth studio album In Cauda Venenum back in September, we were expecting a trip down memory lane through their extensive back catalogue and their Glasgow show did not disappoint on this front.
Following on from a successful tour across Europe, Peterborough quartet Airways are currently out on tour across the UK. With nearly a decade to their name, Illinois pop-punkers Real Friends are still churning out positive vibes, catchy (and sad) songs and great live shows. Currently on UK shores with labelmates Grayscale, in support of latest album Composure. We were there to witness the London show.
Marking their recent record release NINE with two stripped-back sets, Blink-182 returned to Kingston's party hive PRYZM for two sold-out acoustic album launch shows with Banquet Records. 20 years into their career, Killswitch Engage are on a form that most bands would kill to be in at their prime. When they took to the Barrowland Ballroom in Glasgow recently we were there to witness them live in support of their latest album Atonement, find out everything which went down and check out our photo gallery here.
Following on from the release of their latest album Beautiful Oblivion via Rise Records, Issues headed out on tour across the UK and Europe earlier this month in support of the release. Read what we thought of their Glasgow show and check out our photos from the set here.
Emo titans Jimmy Eat World return with their 10th album. They keep on trucking, but do the creative juices continue to flow for Mesa, Arizona's famous sons?
Craig Finn (The Hold Steady, Lifter Puller and Brokerdealer) is in the UK right now playing his first run of shows with the four-piece Uptown Controllers sharing the stage. This year he released the third part in his trilogy of solo releases I Need A New War which continues in his narrative style of writing, we headed to the Bristol date of the tour to see how this works in a live setting.
